Cocó Montealegre was born in Tucumán, Argentina in 1990. She studied at the local Fine Arts school, specializing herself in ceramic and painting.

In 2008, she began a Cinema, Video and TV university career, obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Media.

 

In 2015, she embarked on a one-year trip to Lyon, France, where she resumed her studies and research in ceramic.

She returned to her motherland and made part of a collective of self-managed artists, where she created "Cantera", her first ceramic workshop.

At the end of 2017, she was awarded with a scholarship given by the Ministry of Culture of Argentina, to return to France where she continued her studies and research in ceramic.

 

She currently lives in Lyon and works as an independent artist, mainly focused in illustration projects, ceramic sculptures and video art.
